If you like youth baseball, check out the Hawaii World Series Baseball tournament at Central Oahu Regional Park. The park is located on Kamehameha Highway across from Waipio Gentry, Oahu. The tournament is being hosted by the West Oahu Baseball Organization in an effort to provide an opportunity for Hawaii teams to compete against mainland competition. Read more
Veikune Impressive at the Combine

By ISM StaffFormer Hawai`i Warrior David Veikune put up impressive numbers at the 2009 NFL Scouting Combine. Veikune was listed on the NFL.com website as a top performer in three categories: 40 yard dash (4.87), bench press (35 reps of 225 lbs), and the 3 cone drill (7.20). For defensive lineman, Veikune was ranked 3rd in the bench press, 8th in the 40 yard dash, and 4th in the 3 cone drill.Veikune said he is currently returning to Hawai`i for three weeks. Veikune will then return to Carson, California for the UH Pro Day at the Home Depot Center on April 2. The Home Depot Center also happens to be the location where David have been training since January 1.Veikune told ISM that he has met with all teams in the NFL but had extended question and answer time with the Cowboys, Cardinals, Bears, and the Chiefs.

BRYAN CLAY SIGNS AUTOGRAPHS

Olympic decathlon gold medal winner Bryan Clay signed autographs for hundreds of fans today at Kahala Mall. Clay is only one of two U.S. Olympic medal winners from the 2008 Beijing Olympics to have their likeness printed on the Wheaties box. The other athlete is gymnast Nastia Liukin. Fans purchased the cereal box for $2.99 and Clay signed them for free. Read more
It’s Brent Rausch!

Today after practice, Head Coach Greg McMackin officially announced that the new University of Hawai`i Warrior quarterback will be Brent Rausch. Rausch is 6’4″, 180 lbs., and is an incoming sophomore from College of the Desert in Palm Desert, CA. He was the 2007 Foothill Conference Player of the Year. He played high school football at Desert Chapel High School in Palm Springs, CA, where he was an honor student and lettered in football as well as baseball. Read more
Colt Brennan Drops Back to Pass!

“Brennan drops back, throws…its complete!” That was Colt’s first play as a pro. It was a screen for seven yards and I hope a start to a long and successful career!
The Washington Redskins played the Indianapolis Colts in the Hall of Fame pre-season game in Canton, Ohio. Brennan received his first action during the Redskins’ first series of the second half. Read more

Bryan Clay wins the Decathlon!

Hawaii’s Bryan Clay participated in the US Olympic Track and Field trials at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon (June 29-30, 2008). Clay a Castle High School alumnus participated in the decathalon. He set a record of 8,832 points to win. Clay will now represent the US in the Beijing, Olympics.
