Well…Hawaii fell short and lost to San Jose State, 20 to 17, tonight.

I am not going into any details of the game.  Right now, I don’t think any of that really matters.  I know this is not our miracle season team with Colt Brennan, this is a rebuilding year for the Warriors.  As fans, everyone should keep their heads up high and think positive.  Remember the saying “Believe”?   The Warriors need the fans more now, than they did last year.  Read more

OSU QB MoevaoBy Simi Strickland

No more perceptions of Islanders filling up rosters all across the country at linemen and linebackers spots. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a lineman or linebacker. More Island kids are now excelling in another skill position. Check out the Furious Five quarterbacks in Read more

Wait! Maybe the Warriors Aren’t That Bad?

September 26, 2008

DB Calvin Roberts Pumped Up!Oregon State beat USC, 27-21.  That’s right!  The Beavers beat the No. 1 Trojans in Corvallis today and they led the entire game!  On the Oregon State side of the ball, running back Jacquizz Rodgers ran for 186 yards and 2 touchdowns, and quarterback Lyle Moevao was 18 of 26 for 167 yards and two touchdowns.  Sounds familiar?  On the other side of the ball, USC tailback Joe McKnight rushed for just 10 yards.  That was after he rushed for 105 yards against Ohio State last week.  Quarterback Mark Sanchez completed 18 of 29 for 227 yards and threw a costly interception late in the game. Rumble on the Roof

September 20, 2008

By Dave K.

Rumble on the RoofHawaii Performance Mustangs held their 1st Annual Rumble on the Roof at Honolulu Ford on Sunday, September 14th.  It was a coincidence that Island Sports Media found out about this event.  On that same day, we were having a staff meeting at Kiawe Grill in Kalihi and Aunty G. noticed a guy wearing a Hawaii Performance Mustangs shirt ordering at the counter.  Since her son is interested in Mustangs she struck up a conversation with him.  He told her that they were holding their 1st Annual Rumble on the Roof at Honolulu Ford, located across the street from Kiawe Grill.  Right after the meeting, some of us drove across the street to check out the Mustangs.  Turns out she was talking to Gavin Lohmeier who ended up winning the Rumble contest.  What are the chances of that!  Read more
