RAINBOW WAHINE CAME UP SHORT AGAINST UTAH STATE, 43-52

Megan TinninThis game was a battle from beginning to end.  The lead changed several times during the first half with the Rainbow Wahine on top of the Aggies at halftime, 23-21.   It continued in the second half as the lead again changed several times.  The Rainbow Wahine gave it 110 percent but came up just short in the end as the Aggies closed them out, 43-52.  Which was the biggest lead in the entire game. Tadd Fujikawa looking over his puttWith a huge gallery in tow, Tadd Fujikawa shot a 3-over-par 73 today at the Sony Hawai`i Open, Waialae Country Club.  Tadd finished tied for 32nd at 5-under par and earned $29,237.14, his biggest pay check as a professional golfer by far. Read more

UH BASKETBALL TEAMS DROP THEIR WAC GAMES

Keisha Kanekoa showing some hustleBoth the women’s and men’s basketball teams lose their WAC conference games on Saturday at the Stan Sheriff Center.

The women played their conference home opener against Nevada.  The Rainbow Wahine trailed early and continued to fight their way back into the game but came up short 50-69.  The Wahine is now 3-14 overall and 0-4 in conference play.  Read more

TADD SHOOTS A 62!

Tadd Fujikawa at the Sony Open’s Pro-Junior Skills ChallengeAfter three rounds of golf at the Sony Hawaii Open at the Waialae Country Club, Tadd Fujikawa jumps from 50th place to 6th place with his 62.  He shot 71 and 69 in his first two rounds.  He is currently at 8 under and only two-strokes behind the leader, Zach Johnson.  Tadd’s 62 is the best score so far in the tournament this year.  He beat Tom Pernich, Jr.’s 63 he shot yesterday. WARRIORS LOSE BUT STILL HAVE DIE HARD FANS

Steven Hunt goes up for the killThe University of Hawai`i Warrior men’s volleyball team loss for the second night in a row to the Pepperdine Waves, 27-30, 22-30, 30-27, 26-30, at the Stan Sheriff Center.  Hawai`i is now 1-4 overall and 0-2 in the MPSF.  Leading the team was freshman Steven Hunt with his season high 24 kills.  He also had seven digs and seven blocks.

On January 20, 2009, this country will welcome in it’s first African American President of the United States.  Not only is he the first African American President, Barack Obama will become the first Hawai`i born President.   I am one of those lucky people to receive a ticket to the inauguration, thanks to Senator Daniel Inouye.  This article, post, blog, or whatever you want to call it, will document my trip to the inauguration.  I will post photos and videos as I get time and add to this post as I feel like it.  Read more
