On May 17, 2008, the Big John Manumaleuna Foundation held it’s first football camp of the year, sponsored by Ultimate Edge Sports. The camp was held on this hot and sunny day at the Santa Ana City College in Santa Ana, California.
There was a good turnout with some of the top athletes in the area participating. Some kids came from as far away as Missouri, Colorado, and Nevada. The coaching staff was loaded with some of the best coaches in the area, including some current and former NFL players, such as Brandon Manumaleuna of the San Diego Chargers, Ma’ake Kemoeatu of the Carolina Panthers, and Chris Kemoeatu of the Pittsburgh Steelers. These NFL players are such great role models with big hearts. The Kemoeatu brothers made a special trip from Carolina and Pittsburgh to be there for the kids.
The camp not only taught the kids about football, coaches more importantly spoke about the importance of education and making the right decisions. Education first, football second.
Thank you to all that participated.
