The Hawai`i Rainbow Wahine are peaking at the right time as they win their 18th consecutive victory over the Purdue Boilermakers and advances in the NCAA Tournament. Freshman Kanani Danielson led the way for the Wahine with 21 kills, Jamie Houston had 15, and Amber Kaufman had 11. Tara Hittle led the defense with 12 digs. The Rainbow Wahine were down several times during the match but managed to rally back. After losing the first set 18-25, they dug in and won the next three sets 25-22, 25-23, and 25-20. Sophmore setter Dani Mafua kept the Boilermakers off balance by rotating her sets between Danielson, Houston, Kaufman, and Cubi-Otineru. The Wahine faces the Stanford Cardinals tomorrow at Moby Area in Fort Collins, Colorado at 4 p.m. HST. The game will be televised on ESPNU. Tomorrow’s winner will go on to the Final Four next week in Omaha, Nebraska. Go Wahine!
